Torridon Trip: Day 2 (28th Dec)

sunny 15 °C

After breakfast we ventured outside to an unusually warm day (14.5 degrees). As the weather was so calm and mild we decided to rearrange our plans and go via the usually treacherous in winter 'Bealach Na Ba' road to Applecross. The scenery en route was stunning and we instantly appreciated the beauty of Applecross once we arrived. We did a 5km walk taking in the Bay with Bobby and the weather was so warm I just needed a fleece! At the end of the walk we passed the Potting Shed café which was open and doing a roaring trade. As tables were scarce we decided to walk back to our car and go to the Applecross Inn right on the sea front. We were not disappointed! I had soup and beautifully cooked scallops and Grant chose fish and chips.
After lunch we took a drive around the Applecross peninsula. For dinner we had dips & red wine in front of the fire.
